About “Wild Amy”

So, as y’all have probably seen, I’ve been working on an Amy Rose fangame.

This fangame is rather mysterious to my following, so I guess I should start making posts explaining it.

First, let’s talk about the design of Amy. She’s naked, unkempt, and has long claws on her feet. She has a bit of a “feral” look to her, like she hasn’t had time to brush her hair. This is a remnant of the earlier concept of the game, where it was a survival-stealth type game. I was inspired by Metal Gear Solid 3 at the time. Originally, it was a drawing I did (hence the poor quality) of the concept of a badass survivalist nudist Amy.

Anyways, this concept existed in my head for a while, though I did post about it a bit, mostly as wishful thinking. It seemed too crazy, and I already had other projects I was working on.

But, as progress on those other projects burned out, the desire to make it grew more and more.

Then, while discussing it with my friend AngelChao, he decided to draw some concept sketches of her. I was instantly in love with the concept. I mean, look at her~

So, with newfound ambition, I asked my friend to draw me a model sheet for her. I forgot if it was paid work or not, but I surely would have paid for it.

So, being the foolishly overly-ambitious young lady I am, I got to modeling.
After much trial and error, and a lot of tweaking, she turned out exactly how I wanted.

I’m so happy with how she turned out, especially her body shape and the fact that I gave her a longer tail like her Sonic Adventure model. The original concept, after all, was that this is the same Amy from Sonic Adventure 1, maybe sometime between Adventure 1 and 2.

However, as my game continued to grow and change, I encountered a problem. The story is no longer about surviving “in the wild”, but in a world of dreams. Dreamscapes, liminal spaces, places that are interconnected in sometimes illogical or surreal ways. (Also lots of assets from Sonic Adventure 1/2, especially beta/unused stuff.) It’s like something like Yume Nikki or B3313, but for Sonic Adventure.

I even decided to make Amy (and Cream) sleep in a bed, waking up and starting a new “day” in the dreamscape.

So, what do I do? Do I rework her design I love so much, that makes her stand out?
No, I got a better idea. Maybe this Amy looks “wild” because she’s a reflection of the unpredictable nature of dreams, or maybe she’s got a more “natural” look because this is her raw self. Or, the messy hair could just be bedhead, since she’s in a dream. Either way… it works out in the end.

As a bit of a reference to the original concept, I actually decided to make the prologue/tutorial area take place in a dense “mystic ruins” type jungle.

So ah, now you know. Hope y’all enjoy what I do with this concept. ^_^

My Discord was hacked.

I’m such a goddamn idiot, I wanted to protect my friends by making absolutely sure the mysterious executable was bad, and I used sandboxie to run it, thinking it was contained and safe… but um, I was completely wrong. Now I lost my old discord, the hacker tried to extort $50 from me, and I had to change a LOT of passwords.

So um, to all my friends that lost contact with me, my @ is the same as my old one, but with an underscore after it.

I’m especially sending this message out to my friend Jio, whom I didn’t share any mutuals with, I really don’t want my kitty friend to lose me. Please re-add me, I miss you.

Conflicted about Unity

So, y’all heard the news about Unity.

…Yep. The same game engine I’ve been using since 2015 for my projects.
While their recent (and downright stupid) plans won’t effect me personally due to being a small single hobbyist developer, it still feels gross using the engine. I’m scared of people thinking I’m OK with these choices they made.

But at the same time, I’d have to start over from scratch and learn like, Unreal or Godot or something. And the thing is, I don’t like Unreal, and while Godot seems OK, I feel like transferring everything to it would kill my drive to make things entirely for a while.

I really, really hope Unity does some SERIOUS rollbacks when they realize how stupid this idea is. I want to feel good about making games with their engine. It’s perfect for my intentions.

…Of course, I could always go back to making my own engine… AlonEngine 2023?

Naw. there’s WAY too much work there. Like an insane amount…. and so much systems debugging lol. (Even though it would give me a lot of control of my code tbh)

Wonder what I should do? I need more time to think about it.

Old News, but my Pixiv Fanbox was indefinitely suspended.

So, a while back, due to pressure from credit card companies, pixiv fanbox had to put restrictions on creators. However, they were INCREDIBLY vague about what these restrictions were, and made it sound like the banners on my art were a violation. So I deleted every single post’s banner, and every post that had an even slightly suggestive banner before, and they still told me I was in violation. Eventually, I ran out of time and was permanently suspended, even though other creators making similar or even more intense content could stay.

You know what it was? Text tags. Saying the cursed L word (or the cursed ロ word) was what killed it. I had no idea. I had no chance. So an avenue of financial support closed.

HOWEVER, if y’all want to support me and the creation of nude mods and art, you can instead find me on Ko-Fi. I’d really appreciate any financial help I can get, because money’s been really tight lately. It’s hard to create when you’re stressed about bills and what’s for dinner and such. And well, I’m hoping to save up to go see my girlfriend in person, as well as go back to college, and I’m very tempted to dig into savings for those goals…

So um, if anyone would be so kind as to lend me some support, I’ll be eternally grateful.

AlonWoof on Ko-Fi

(asking for money is always hard for me to do oof)

Bare Sands 2015 Prototype

Back when I was first learning Unity, I created a prototype for Bare Sands (not called that at the time since it was transitioning from Alonguy to Bare Sands still) and I exported it to HTML5. I found it again a year or two ago, and hosted it in a secret directory on this very website.

But um, I think I’m ready to let y’all try it. Keep in mind it’s BAD, I barely knew how to use Unity back then, and I wasn’t nearly as good at modeling or animating.
It can be found and played in your browser here.

Seriously, it’s bad lmao. The bgm has doppler effect on it because I didn’t know how to turn it off. I don’t know if it works on mobile, but on PC you use a keyboard and mouse, with WASD to move.

Just a bit of history I thought I’d share~
